Since Anke Pietrangeli won the Idols competition in 2003 with the hit debut single “Silver Lining”, she grew into a focused professional singer. Anke went on to win the SAMA award for the best single by a female artist in 2004 and Silver Lining went on to sell more than 30000 Copies. Anke’s first album “By Heart” sold over 16 500 copies. This album also features the popular song ‘A Real Good Time’ which was selected as the theme song for the Supersport channel, as well as powerful ballads combined with some more modern mixes. With the release of her new album “Limbo” you can find a combination of Afrikaans, English and Country music. On this album, you will find the ever popular ‘Angel’ that put Anke on the map during her Idols audition, as well as the much played ‘Stay if you Will’. The album contains different music styles and with Anke’s versatile voice, the songs take on a new meaning - enabling her to reach all her fans in different genres. With her vibrant down to earth personality she has developed into someone everybody adores when they meet her. Anke finds it important to give back to the community by annually supporting charities such as CANSA in full flair. She is also looking forward to a year filled with performances across the country which includes festivals, corporate functions and schools. She is currently busy with the recording of her latest single that promises to bring a new dynamic sound to her music to which everyone can look forward to. Being an independent artist, gives Anke the opportunity to travel and arrange her own shows across the country. She already has an international hit in “My Radio” and plans to do the same with her new Album which was released in November 2008, “Tribute to the great Female vocalists”. Which gives tribute to singers like Bette Midler, Petulia Clark, Alannah Myles, Jennifer Rush and Madonna, and many more.
